Taye Diggs

FAVORITE BREAKFAST MOMENT:

As soon as I get Walker to the table and he’s got his cereal and his milk, he brightens up and that’s one of my favorite parts of the day – just enjoying sharing his morning energy.

BACKGROUND:

An established star of film, television and theatre, Taye Diggs made his feature film debut starring opposite Angela Bassett in the box office hit “How Stella Got Her Groove Back.”

Diggs recently wrapped production on “The Trials of Cate McCall,” a drama about a former hotshot lawyer who must take on the appeal of a woman wrongfully convicted of murder. The film is set to be released in 2013. Also slated to be released this year is Diggs’ film “Between Us,” about two couples who meet as old friends and discover how their lives have changed.

Last September, Diggs published his first children’s book entitled “Chocolate Me.” The book tells the story of a relentlessly teased child who learns to appreciate what sets him apart from his neighbors.

Diggs recently stared in the ABC series, “Private Practice,” in which he played the role of Dr. Sam Bennett. He was honored for his role with the award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” at the 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards in 2009.

Throughout his career, Diggs has received a number of awards including a nomination for “Distinguished Performance” from the Drama League Awards for his portrayal of Captain Davenport in the Second Stage Theatre production of “A Soldier’s Play,” a NAACP Image Award for “Best Actor-Television” for his role on “Kevin Hill,” and a Screen Actors Guild Award for “Best Ensemble Performance” for the film “Chicago”- among others.

Diggs currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Idina Menzel, and son Walker.
